This is a boozy & stirred cocktail that follows the classic Negroni format of equal parts spirit, Amaro and aromatized wine. It’s fun dissecting the formulas of recipes that are tried & true, because the benefits are twofold. The first benefit being that your take on the classic will notably improve, as you now have a better understanding of the drink & how best to serve it. The second being that you have a stronger understanding of how the ingredients relate to one another, which makes it much easier to replace the existing ingredients in new & novel ways, thus allowing you to create original recipes that have a strong foundation in the classics, resulting in more balanced & delicious beverages. With that said, this is a cocktail that our host @HungryBartender came up with for the opening menu of @BoilermakerNYC that is ideal for those of you that love stirred Amaro cocktails.
