Cocktail Video w/ Delightful Drinks: Piña Verde

Of all our original cocktails that we love to make when we are traveling and doing events, the Piña Verde has got to be at the top of the list. So when Delightful Drinks, asked us to make a drink for one of their beautiful videos during a recent stop in London, we instinctually went with this herbaceous & tropical concoction. The beverage itself itself is the unique marriage of creamy coconut working in cahoots with the iconic French liqueur, Green Chartreuse. You might notice from looking at the recipe below that there is no spirit called for in this drink. You are correct in your supposition, as there is indeed no gin, rum, vodka, etc to do the heavy lifting. While most liqueurs tend to play second fiddle to the respective spirit in a cocktail, here the Green Chartreuse boldly takes center stage. And it works so well here, partly due to the fact that the liqueur weighs in at an impressive 55% ABV, as opposed to the mid-twenties like most liqueurs. The result means that you are able to experience the legendary liqueur in all of its glory without any other booze stealing its thunder.

PINA VERDE
1.5oz Green Chartreuse .5oz Lime
1.5oz Pineapple Juice
.75oz Coconut Cream
METHOD: Crushed Ice or Pebble Ice
GLASSWARE: Hurricane or Collins
GARNISH: Pineapple Frond & Lime
