Lost Classics: The Rum Runner

One of our favorite cocktails from back in the day, has got to be the Rum Runner. We first found the drink in Stanley Arthur's book, Famous New Orleans Drinks and How to Mix 'Em, written in 1937. The drink itself is super simple, and very open to interpretation, as the original recipe never specified which style of rum to use. We generally do it with one ounce white rum and one ounce Jamaican Rum, but the end result or combination of rums is completely up to you. Try it out yourself and don’t forget to tell us what rum combo you liked best.
