New Year's Cocktail w Guinness Draught Stout

For our latest blog post, we are bringing you a cold brew and Guinness Stout cocktail that is just the right blend of caffeine and alcohol -- and is the perfect drink to help you bring you in the New Year. This is the ideal recipe to help you ring you in the New Year, so we’re naming this cocktail the Guinness ‘Midnight in Dublin’ Iced Coffee to help celebrate. The cocktail itself takes its name from the iconic city in Ireland in which the Guinness Brewery has called home for over 250 years.

Making this cocktail at home could not get any easier, as you don't even need a cocktail shaker or mixing vessel. Since the drink is built in a collins glass over ice, as long as you have some jiggers and barspoon, you are already halfway to drinking.

For the recipe, we will be using the new Guinness Gives Back California can, which is a limited-edition can that supports the California Association of Food Banks. For every Guinness Gives Back pack produced, Guinness is donating $1, up to $750,000, to charitable organizations in the U.S. There are five versions available across the nation, so keep your eyes peeled for the Guinness Gives Back pack on shelves in your area.

One of the reasons that I like the cocktail so much is because it combines three of my favorite things on Earth: coffee, beer and whiskey. In addition to those three things, we end it with a float of cream and a bit of freshly grated cinnamon. The cream is going to give it a smooth and creamy texture while the grated cinnamon provides a rich and complex aromatic component.
