Overproof Spirits & Amaro

This is one of the cocktails that our host, Erick Castro, will be serving in LA this Monday night, but since we know that not everyone can make it, we decided to share the recipe here for you to enjoy as well. We know this recipe looks weird when you first look at it, but trust us when we tell you that you just have to try it. It is a perfect example of using an overproof spirit to fortify an amaro or liqueur –similar in concept to those that add a little gin to their Pimm’s Cups– while also combining several flavors that don’t seem like they would work.

GUARDIAN ANGEL
1.25oz Amaro Montenegro
.75oz Wray & Nephew Overproof
.75oz Lime
.75oz Orgeat
3-4 Slices Cucumber
2 drops of Rose Water

METHOD: Muddle & Shake
GLASSWARE: Coupe
GARNISH: Thinly Sliced Cucumber Floating on Top
